BHM Facts, an ATL rapper, has been making waves with his unique sound, which his upbringing has deeply influenced in Atlanta. BHM Facts sat down with Southern Tea Report for an exclusive interview to give us an insight into his journey to becoming a musician. Growing up in the Jonesboro South projects, BHM Facts was surrounded by the city’s vibrant music scene, which helped shape his musical style. “Growing up in Atlanta influenced my sound as a rapper a lot because I grew up around the music scene,” he reflects. His music is marked by diversity, something he attributes to the culture and experiences of his early years.
One of BHM Facts’ standout hits, 3 AM in Atlanta, is a reflection of those experiences. He credits the late nights and early mornings in the city as the inspiration for the track. “The story it tells is me just catching vibes, speaking facts of my life,” he says. With influences like Lil Durk, NoCap, and Rod Wave, BHM Facts crafts music that speaks from the heart, drawing from both personal experiences and the evolving sound of the Atlanta music scene.
When discussing Atlanta’s current music climate, BHM Facts acknowledges how it’s evolved. “The Atlanta music scene has evolved with just letting the young ones come in, turn up on beats, and get stages lit.” He foresees a return to “real rap” in the near future, despite the current dominance of catchy phrase-driven rap. As the industry continues to change, he remains focused on staying true to himself and his sound. With the city’s music scene already flooded with talent, standing out requires constant innovation. “I faced challenges like having to work extremely hard because the city is already super populated with musicians,” he explains.
For BHM Facts, staying motivated is about reflecting on his progress. “The way I stay motivated when creating new music is just thinking about how far I’ve come since day one,” he shares. This journey was marked by unforgettable experiences, like meeting Boosie backstage in St. Louis when he opened a concert for the Louisiana rapper. Looking ahead, BHM Facts is ready to take the industry by storm, with major collaborations in the works, including a highly anticipated feature with Anti Da Menace.
As he continues to grow his career, BHM Facts has one piece of advice for up-and-coming artists: “Stay true to yourself, don’t follow the wave, make your own, and always work first and play later.” With his raw and authentic approach to music, he’s determined to keep pushing boundaries and elevate his voice in the industry.
