North Carolina Groom Fatally Murdered on Wedding Day
Tyrek Burton, a 37-year-old father of four from Greensboro, North Carolina, married the love of his life after 16 years together, but tragically, just hours later, on October 12, 2024, he was shot and killed. After the couple exchanged vows, family and friends celebrated their union at the reception, where everyone danced the night away in joy.
However, only seven hours after saying “I do,” Tyrek was fatally shot in front of his new bride. Reports suggest the shooting may have stemmed from a possible road rage incident. According to WFMY News, Tyrek exited the wedding venue, and a suspect pulled up in a car and opened fire, shooting him 15 times. First responders arrived on the scene but were unable to save him; they found him lifeless in the venue’s parking lot.
Heartbroken family members are left asking, “Why him?” They don’t believe it was a case of road rage, calling it a “random act of violence” and demanding justice. The family claims an unknown individual entered the parking lot, accusing Tyrek of being involved in a traffic incident before fatally shooting him. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the family continues to hope for justice.
